Reg Curley started working with reinforced plastics in the early 60's as a hobby. Then in 1965 he decided to buy a small factory at New Cross, London and his 2 brothers, Ken and Alf, his wife Pamela and his sister Pauline joined him. In 1967 they started a motor-cycle team, Curley Speed Equip, which today has developed into a car racing team. In 1970 the company moved to Yalding in Kent, where they continued to manufacture motor-cycle parts and moved into manufacturing for various other industries including Aerospace Target Planes.
In 1979 the company changed it's name to Curley Specialised Mouldings, continuing on with Reg, Pamela and Ken. In 1988 Reg and Pamela's son Ian left school and started working for the family business, and in 1991 Ian started to develop a range of Mini products for his own race use and to add to the companies ever increasing product line, many years on and Ian's Mini range are now a major part of the company.
In 1994 Ian Curley took over the full running of the business, due to the sudden and unfortunate death of Ken Curley and then tragically Reg Curley, when after suffering from a stroke, later passed away in 2003.
In 2000 Curley Specialised Mouldings with the business becoming more and more of a success went limited, with the name Curley UK Ltd, although still trading under the name of Curley Specialised Mouldings.
